More Specialty Camps

Costume Design
July 27th – Aug 7th
AGES: 9-18

This session of camp engages young people in costume and character design. Instructions in sewing and reconstructions of outfits to fit the show and the era of time. Field trips to material stores and trim shops to learn about different fabrics and tricks in sewing. Campers prepare costumes for a show. Each camper will be taught how to use a sewing machine and will create an outfit that will be in the fashion show at the end of the 2-week session.

Dance Intensive
August 10th - August 29th
AGES: 5-18

Dance Intensive is a three-week dance boot camp that teaches several styles of dance to young people as it prepares them for “Dance Factory”, our annual concert of movement. Dance Intensive is three weeks of inspiration. If you are ready to immerse yourself within the walls of this powerful and exciting studio, then this workshop is for you! We will gently guide you through the two weeks of dance company training, while pushing you to meet challenges at your own pace. This session of camp engages young dancers in a one on one working relationship with accomplished choreographers for two weeks of intense dance activities. Also this camp offers some traditional summer camp activities, which includes arts and crafts, swimming, and a free lunch.

Interim Camp
Session 1 June 2th - July 24th

AGES 5-8

This encampment features traditional summer camp activities including arts & crafts, creative movement,
swimming, field trips and free lunch. Interim camp runs during Shakers 2 and Writers Block for the children
who are not quite old enough to participate in our big camps but still enjoy being around the arts. This group is limited to 15 children and will have the opportunity to see productions in their early stages and attend the final production of Shakers Camp.
