Writers Block
June 29th - July 3rd
AGES: 9-18
This session of camp engages young writers, actors and actresses in a one on one working relationship with accomplished writers and dramatist for two weeks for writing and play production activities in a workshop atmosphere. Activities includes script writing, character development, acting and directing, with the technical side of theater which includes lighting, music production, stage design and costume design. This session of camp concludes with a performance/reading showcasing all students in a production featuring material written by the camp’s participants and a full production of the material TBA.

Audio / Video & Theater Production
Session 1 June 29th - July 3rd

AGES 9-18/Adult Evenings
This encampment teaches the basics of audio and video production. This class will work with filming and editing projects. Also digital photography and music creation through the computer will be explored to render a finished project where the students use all media to prepare their end of camp session presentations.

Shakers Performing Arts Camp Session 1
July 6th - July 24th
AGES: 9-18
This session of camp engages young actors and actresses in a one on one working relationship with accomplished dramatist for three weeks of performing arts activities. Activities includes acting, dancing, and singing along with the technical side of theater which includes lighting, music production, stage design and costume design. This session of camp concludes with a double feature performance showcasing all students in a modernized Shakespeare play and a contemporary musical. Past year classical productions included "Romeo and Juliet", "A Midsummer's Night Dream" and "The Taming of The Shrew" on the Main Stage at American International College. Campers performed the traditional plays with updated 'hip' language and current pop hits. Continuing our tradition of introducing Shakespeare to the urban community, we will be performing “King Lear”.

Shakers Performing Arts Camp Session 2
July 21st - August 1st
AGES: 5-8
This session of camp engages young actors and actresses in a one on one working relationship with accomplished dramatist for two weeks of performing arts activities which includes acting, dancing, and singing. Also this camp offers some traditional summer camp activities, which includes arts and crafts, swimming, and a free lunch. This session concludes with a children’s theater production that is age appropriate and engaging.
